As it looks, the summer of 2007 might be the most profitable summer season ever. Already we have two movies breaking records, with another following today, and there are plenty more movies that could be making $ 200 million or more before August ends. But what about next summer? Will it be another threequel feast? Or are we actually going to be treated to a summer that has some more originality? (What do you expect?)
10. Kung Fu Panda
Let me help you out of your dream: the summer of 2008 is not going to be a summer full of fresh, original movies. However, there won't be a ton of threequels either. And, in between all the comic book properties and sequels and fourquels (or whatever you call it), there are a few blips of originality. Like with Kung Fu Panda, the latest animated movie from Dreamworks, about a lazy Panda (voiced by Jack Black) who one day finds out he is the chosen one to save his tribe from great danger. It looks pretty fun, and with Dreamworks animation you know it will at least be crowd pleasing.
9. Starship Dave
What's this? Another original movie? It's Eddie Murphy starring in a science fiction comedy that's called Pluto Nash. Er... I mean Starship Dave. The idea for this movie is pretty cool, being about a group of miniature aliens who operate a space ship that has a human form (Murphy). They are on a mission to save their planet, but then their ship falls in love with a human woman. Although I have no idea how a spaceship (even an alien one) can fall in love with a woman, it stills seems fun. At least it cannot be worse than Pluto Nash (if that isn't the worst recommendation of the year, I don't know what is). I'm rooting for this movie though, since it would be nice to finally see Murphy in something really good and funny again.
8. The Incredible Hulk
Norton. Tyler. Roth. Hulk. Do you really need more than these four words to go out and see this movie? I just hope the new movie can shake off too negative comparisons with Ang Lee's movie, or it will be dead in the water at the box office.
7. Speed Racer
The Wachowski's do a live action version of a classic Japanese cartoon about a young racer and his aspirations to become the best racer in the world, and to beat the unbeatable Racer X. This is the movie that will make star Emile Hirsch into 2008's Shia LaBeouf. It also features Christina Ricci, which is a great bonus, plus I am sure the brothers have got what it takes to turn this movie into something really spectacular.
6. American Dog
Disney's new animated project. I was looking forward to this more when Chris Sanders (Lilo and Stitch) was still attached to it, and when it was still digital animation, but if they can retain some of the cool atmosphere that the first bits of concept art conveyed, then this road movie about a dog, a cat and some other crazy animals can still turn into something special. And what do you know? The third original movie on this list!
5. Iron Man
Superhero movies are going to be the biggest thing of summer 2008, so let's hope that people won't get too bored with the genre by the time the last one of them opens. Still, this one has incredible pedigree, with Jon Favreau directing and Robert Downey Jr. and Jeff Bridges starring as the good guy and the bad guy. This might even be better than the Incredible Hulk, which already looks, er, incredible enough as it is!
4. Tonight He Comes
And here we have another superhero movie, but this one is actually not based on any existing material. It's Will Smith as a superhero who falls out of grace with his fans, and who then hires a public relations executive (Jason Bateman) to save his image, only to find out he is falling in love with the pr-guy's wife. Charlize Theron will play the wife in this movie, which is directed by Peter Berg. Not much is known yet about this project, but it seems that anything Will Smith touches turns into gold, and I don't see why this should be any different.
3. Prince Caspian
The Chronicles of Narnia return with this second movie in the series, which is shooting as we speak in New Zealand. This is one of those movies that is failproof. The first one was such a big hit that even if only if half the audience for that movie shows up, it's still a megasmash. Not sure though if the franchise will be as successful in the summer as it is in the Christmas season, which seems more like a time for a movie like this.
2. Indiana Jones IV
Yeah, I know that you are probably all expecting this movie to end up in the first position, but there are still many factors that could damage this movie's potential. Like... Well... What am I talking about? If this doesn't get cash registers smoking, I don't know which movie will...
1. The Dark Knight
...It's just that Batman Begins got so much love from movie and Batman-fans worldwide, and warner Bros is so cleverly starting out it's advertising campaign already, that the dark knight will probably blow any competition right out of the water. I'm not sure if it will break the $ 300 million mark, but then again I have to admit that at the moment I don't see any of 2008's summer movies do that. It looks like it could be a great summer, but with all the new properties (based on a comic or a cartoon or not, they are still new franchises), it will be interesting to see which of these things is really going to break out and challenge Indy and Batman for the title.
cool

Alright, But the studio has, over the last few months, been seeking both a new writer and a new director for "Mouse," with a number of up-and-comers on the list. We''ll keep you posted when they're hired, but the very fact of development momentum is noteworthy. Paramount has had success distributing DreamWorks Animation's films – the studio currently has the hit "How to Train Your Dragon" out in theaters -- but also has made the most of its few forays into animation production. "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie," a Paramount/Nick collaboration, earned $140 million worldwide back in 2004 (and that was long before the 3-D and hybrid live/animation crazes hit full bore, which could give a jolt to this one if the studio went that way).

Lighting a fire is only half the battle. The way you build a fire - that is, how you arrange the wood - can affect how long the fire will last and the amount of heat it'll give off during that time. This article will provide an overview of "fire architecture" so you can build the perfect fire for your circumstances.

Heavens for-fend that citizens might infringe on any of government's many prerogatives, no matter how small or innocuous such infringement might be. It might start a trend and who knows where that might lead!

Yes it could be a lie, but we have elections coming up and it's like the season of lies. Is there a politician out there who comes without an agenda or will put the interest of the country above there own?

Such partisan no-nothings can't provide cogent solutions either. Doesn't matter if their left, right or moderate; if their focused on partisan ranting they have negative value for our nation.

I can't believe the administration was able to pull this off. And they aren't doing it in ever state, just certain states so they don't get noticed having an additional 3 million jobs reported that they have to explain.
