I've mentioned a few times on this site how Disney/Pixar's upcoming animated movie Ratatouille hasn't been getting all that much hype, and how I was waiting for the Disney hype machine to kick in. Well, according to Jim Hill Media, Disney may actually be a little worried that Ratatouille is not going to perform as well at the box office as Pixar's earlier movies did. Now I don't know if you have ever visited Jim Hill's site, but he is a bit like the Harry Knowles of animation. He has all these insiders who are right about things most of the time, and this time his insiders have told Jim that Disney will be doing a lot of 'managing expectations', meaning that they will try to make it out like Ratatouille is only a small film in this summer of blockbusters, and how it won't be possible to make the numbers of earlier Pixar movies, so that when Ratatouille does become a hit, they can spin this into a big success story. Personally, I just think Disney should start their famous hype machine and get people interested in Ratatouille. According to those same insiderd, this might be the best thing Pixar has ever made, both story wise and animation wise, so it deserves as big an audience as possible!
