The Winter Olympics are running at full steam, which gives us a good reason to look at sports movies, and, more importantly, which ones are the best. Personally, I love sports movies. I know they are always full of cliches, but when well made, they can be emotional, fun and really rouse your spirits. So, which one is your favorite? You will find the list of choices on the right side of the page (might require a bit of scrolling up or down). If you have a suggestion that is not in the list, feel free to drop it in the comments section!
Previous poll: I gave you ten flops and asked you which one of these you thought was actually the best. The answer was clear: 28 percent of you thought Mystery Men did not deserve it's flop status (I agree!) and gave this funny superhero parody the thumbs up. Second place went to Hudson Hawk with 17 percent. This also makes me quite happy, since I really enjoyed this flick when I saw it in theaters upon it's release and was quite shocked at all the nastiness levelled at it. Following closely in third place, with 15 percent, was The 13th Warrior, another movie which deserved more success, while Osmosis Jones and Monkeybone follow right after. I'm glad that those 'too original for their own good' movies have not been forgotten. Behind these movies, it's pretty much a wasteland, since none of you really seemed to enjoy either Pluto Nash, Cutthroat Island, Rollerball, Battlefield Earth or Red Planet. I don't blame you!

Hoosiers! A refreshing movie with great location shots (filmed in the midwest and not calfornia) and excellent performances by Dennis Hopper, Gene Hackman ect.
