2005 is Jessica's year
Even though her role as Sue Storm in the new Fantastic Four movie represents the biggest role in Jessica Alba’s career, the question is if all of her fans will be really happy with her choosing this part. The thing is, Sue Storm is better known as the Invisible Woman, meaning that gorgeous Jessica will be invisible for the biggest part of the movie. A crime against all male moviegoers, if ever we saw one!
Ring my bell
Jessica Alba has, for some time now, been an actress whose name rung a bell, but whose face many people couldn't immediately place. When 2005 is over, however, Alba will have more high profile roles this year than any other actress her age. The first big movie was the one that will probably leave the biggest impression: Sin City. Alba's turn as sexy but tough stripper Nancy gave the movie some added oomph. Not only is she the prettiest woman in a movie filled with pretty women, but her role is the one that will probably stick in your mind the most. Her character has a dark secret, a secret that could have ruined her life but which only made her stronger. She is now a woman that can break your heart, and if you look at her wrong, also some other body parts. Alba makes this very believable. In an interview she mentioned that reading the comic brought her to tears, and it's her section of Sin City that will probably leave even the toughest movie fan swallowing away the quickly rising emotional lump in his throat.
Tough girl
Alba will follow Sin City with a role that is even more tough, that of Sue Storm in The Fantastic Four. As we mentioned before, Sue's secret identity is that of the Invisible Woman, but you don't have to worry that Jessica will dissapear behind CGI-effects throughout the whole movie. In fact, we have not even seen her invisible powers yet in any of the trailers. Guess the people who make the trailer aren't that stupid to hide what is maybe the biggest asset of the movie (well, apart from the fact that it's based on one of the most popular comics ever of course).

“It was not my talent or charm that inspired the director to give me the part, it was my hair, which looked like the hair of the girl I took over for!”
-------------------------
Okay, so we got to see Jessica as a stripper in Sin City and in a skin hugging outfit in Fantastic Four, how are you going to top that? Well, how about Jessica spending a whole movie in a bikini? It's not just a fantasy either, because she will be playing the lead role in Into the Blue, alongside Paul Walker and Scott Caan. The movie is about a group of friends, scuba divers, who happen upon a treasure. Sounds like a childhood dream, save for the fact that a group of bandits is after the same treasure, and things get hairy quickly. Another action role for Jessica's resume, which more or less got a kick start from her first action role, as the lead character in popular TV-series Dark Angel. Life hasn't been all action however, since Jessica also starred in movies like Never Been Kissed, Idle Hands and Honey. Not bad for an actress that got her break when the co-star of a movie she was going to feature in (Camp Nowhere) became sick. “It was not my talent or charm that inspired the director to give me the part,” she said later. “It was my hair, which looked like the hair of the girl I took over for!”
Lady luck
At that time Jessica was 12 years old, and Camp Nowhere was her first role. Jessica had wanted to become an actress since she was five years old, but she only took her first acting class at 12. Nine months later an agent signed Jessica to a contract and the rest is history. “There’s a lot of luck involved, but it’s luck mixed with tenacity. I never sat around and complained. I always did my work, I was always prepared and I was always on time.
The future has much in store for Jessica, with another big movie (Sonic) coming up after Into the Blue. But first: Sin City and The Fantastic Four, both comic-book adaptations, but they could not be more different. “The movies are completely different," Jessica said in an interview, "and I am thrilled that they are so good. I love it that all comic fans are so loyal, so hopefully I can keep making movies for them.”
Somehow, we don’t think any comic book fan (or movie fan for that matter) would object to that offer!
