Check the poster for The Illusionist

It's always funny how, all of a sudden everybody is making movies in the same genre. You have for instance all those movies based on kids books, superhero movies are popping up all over the place, and there is now also three magician-movies in the making. You have The Prestige, with Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman and Scarlett Johansson, there's Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, for which no cast has been announced yet, and then there's The Illusionist, the movie that is furthest in it's development, and also the first one for which there is a poster. It looks pretty cool, with a suave Edward Norton, a scary-bearded Paul Giamatti and a bit bored looking Jessica Biel, and it promises a lot of fun and adventure (even if the tagline, 'Nothing is what it seems', is a bit boring). The movie is coming out in August of this year already, so check the poster for your first look at this movie.

Yum, here's the Saw 3 poster

The one thing more unpleasant than the Saw-movies has been the posters connected to the movies, and this first poster for Saw 3 is no excpetion. It pretty much shows you what to expect from this movie when it's released at Halloween this year, so you are now either gonna go: "Ugh, no thanks!", or "Hey! Let's click on the thumbnail and see that disgusting image in an even bigger size!"

Extra character poster for Clerks 2

Character posters for movies are no unexpected occurance, but it does not happen very often (if at all) that one character gets no less than two posters of her own. Still, this has happened to Rosario Dawson, whose character in Clerks 2 already had a very cool character poster, and who now has a second one. I think I like the first one better, but would not mind this second one hanging on my wall either. Click the thumbnail for a bigger version!

Bee Movie Promotional artwork

You probably know that Jerry Seinfeld has written an animated movie, called Bee Movie? Aint It Cool News scored the first glimpse at some artwork for this movie, and put it online. The pic is taken at the New York Licensing Show, a show where movie distributors show off their big new movies to interested licencees. The image is nothing spectacular, but looks funny enough to keep interest for this movie going.

Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer 'poster'

Aint It Cool News has several spies running around at the New York Licensing Show, a show where movie distributors show off their big new movies to interested licencees. An interesting item they picked up there is this promotional artwork for the new Fantastic Four movie, now called Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer. While the artwork seems to be patched together from old images, it's still interesting to see the addition Silver Surfer to the title, meaning the character really is going to have a big part in the movie. Now the question remains: who will play the Silver Surfer?

Spidey 3 poster online

There's an image of a new Spider-Man 3 poster online, over at DVDrama. Honestly, it's not a terribly exciting poster (besides that, the picture of the poster is not very clear), and it's not that different from the posters for the first two movies. But then again, it's an interesting image nonetheless, and no doubt, as the movie comes closer, we will get some posters that will get some more excitement going.

Edmond Poster online

Edmond is the new movie starring William H. Macy, in which a man decides to leave his wife, after a fortune teller reads him his future, and ends up in New York's 'hellish underworld'. Most of the movies Macy is in are at least entertaining, and Edmond looks like it could be one of his more intriguing recent projects. Of course, this is helped by the fact that this movie is based on a David Mamet (Heist) screenplay, plus the stellar cast, including people like Julia Stiles, Joe Mantegna and Ling Bai. Edmond will start playing beginning July.

Mini's first poster

The first poster for new movie Mini's First Time is online. Mini's First Time is about a young girl who is sick and tired of her uncaring mother, and who decides to seduce her stepfather, so that he will help have her declared insane. This also involves Mini joining an escort agency, where said stepfather is a client. The movie will start playing in America, in selected theaters, halfway through July. No word yet on releases in other countries.

Scoop poster online

The first poster for Woody Allen's second London-based movie, Scoop, has been released. It features Hugh Jackman and Scarlett Johansson chatting with each other, like they were caught unaware. This is not the most striking thing about the poster however, and neither is the (quite intriguing) tagline "The Perfect Man. The Perfect Story. The Perfect Murder". No, that must be that little box underneath the logo, claiming that this movie is rated PG 13 for some sexual content. Sexual content in a movie featuring Scarlett Johansson? Quick! Turn on the air conditioning!

Final poster for Clerks 2

The final poster for Clerks 2 has been released, and although it doesn't differ that much from the other posters we have seen for this movie, it's still a very cool image. It shows all the main characters of the movie, with Roasrio Dawson taking center stage, and has the great tagline "With no power comes no responsibility". Click the thumbnail for a bigger view!
