Rachel Weisz has signed on to star in Peter Jackson's new movie, The Lovely Bones. The movie, based on a book by Alice Sebold, tells the story of a young girl who is abducted and murdered. She goes to heaven, and from there watches her family and friends live on without her. Weisz will play the role of the girl's mother. Shooting for the film is going to start in October, so there are still some more casting announcements coming no doubt very soon. The Lovely Bones is a book that is somewhere in the middle of my pile of books I still have to read, and now that the movie adaptation is becoming clearer, I think it's high time I move it up in the pile a little bit.

The Lovely Bones script analyzed
The Lovely Bones, the next project for director Peter Jackson, is a project that is already much anticipated. It's based on a successful book by writer Alice Sebold, and people are saying the script based on the movie is really great. Which is why there was an intense bidding war for it, which was eventually won by Dreamworks. One of the writers for the LA Times got his hands on the script and analyzed it, besides which he also interviewed some of the people who were involved with the bidding war. A very informative read, showing you a little bit of what goes on behind the scenes in Hollywood.
