The success of the third Spider-Man movie certainly has two faces. In America, the gross of the movie dropped 60 percent when compared to last weekend's gross, which is a pretty big, though not entirely unexpected drop. Big sequels like this normally do a large chunk of their business in the opening weekend. And even with 60 percent cut off, the movie still made 60 million dollars. This means that the movie is still running ahead of the box office gross at this point that the two earlier Spidey-movies had, but the lead is shrinking so fast that analysts are expecting the final gross to end below the earlier movies' grosses. Outside America, it's a whole different story, as the movie is running at full steam to already pass the gross of the two earlier movies next week. Still, we will have to wait and see how big a blow a certain green ogre is going to hand out next weekend, when Shrek The Third opens worldwide.
