Sony studios is looking for a writer for the fourth Spider-Man movie. David Koepp seems to be a frontrunner, since rumor has it he was already contacted about writing a fourth Spidey-flick already in January. It makes sense when you consider that he also wrote the first part. Still, other writers are also being considered. It's not necessary for the fourth movie to follow directly in the footsteps of the three earlier movies, since Sony Pictures is looking more for a James Bond style franchise, where each new part is more or less stand alone. "If you want the kind of longevity we're hoping for with Spider-Man," Sony Pictures CEO Amy Pascal told IF Magazine, "you have to think of them as stand-alone movies, not '1-2-3-4'. They're sort of like the James Bond stories."
