In the United States, Shrek the Third rules, but outside of America, it's still Spider-Man 3 who's at the top. The movie made almost $ 50 million in it's third weekend, a good chunk more than it made in the past weekend in the US. This is mainly thanks to the fact that Shrek the Third only opened in 4 international markets, where it did make a very good $ 13.3 million. The international total for Spider-Man 3 now stands at $ 465.1 million, with the worldwide total now a gigantic $ 747 million. It's possible that Spidey is still on top next weekend as well, as Pirates of the Caribbean 3 will only open in nine countries. The $ 1 billion mark does seem quite far away for Spider-Man 3 though, which sees it's US gross rapidly diminish week by week.
