Back in the 80's, cinema marquees looked a lot different from the way they do now. It seemed like every week, there was a new action movie starring one of the many action heroes of that time. People like Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Steven Seagal, Jean Claude Van Damme and many others were stars that seemed to be able to do no wrong. Even though their movies all had more or less the same premise (man on his own killing tons of baddies in order to save his wife/daughter/sister), people lapped it up and propelled many of these movies to the status of box office smash. Those were the golden days of the action movie, a genre that nowadays seems watered down without those action heroes, but which is on the verge of a comeback.
