Coraline teaser online

Coraline is one of the more exciting animated features coming up this year, and in case you have been looking around for that teaser trailer that has been doing the rounds, you won't have to search anymore. Coraline is the new movie by Henry Selick, director of Nightmare Before Christmas and James and the Giant Peach, based on the book by Neil Gaiman. It's about a girl who enters a strange world that is parallel to ours, with a new set of parents, but who struggles to get back to our world. The animation looks wonderful, and since this movie is going to be released in 3D, you know you are in for a treat.

Trailer online for I Am Legend

Will Smith is the last man on earth, and the rest of us have all turned into mutants. Well, not in real life, but it's the premise of Smith's new movie, I Am Legend. In it, Smith is the last normal person on earth, and his life is a constant struggle to survive. The movie is based on a book that was already filmed once, to great effect, and Smith's remake will hit theaters in December. American Gangster trailer online

Add this movie to your Most Wanted list: Here we have the first trailer for American Gangster, RIdley Scott's gangster movie starring Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe. A killer director, a killer cast, and as you can expect, a killer trailer. This could be a movie to add to the canon of classic gangster movies, let's hope the full movie is as impressive as this small peek into the future.

Six new Harry Potter TV ads online

Warner Bros has amped up their publicity campaign for the new Harry Potter film a little bit more with a sextet of new TV spots. As you can expect, much from these clips was also in the trailers that have been released, but there is also actually quite a bit of new footage that make it worthwile to sit through these trailerettes (hey, if Jerry Seinfeld can get away with making up words like minisodes, I can get away with trailerettes). The problem with these TV spots is always that they are cut so fast, that you can hardly get an idea of what's going on, but that's the price you have to pay if you want new footage.

Three minutes of John Rambo

Aint It Cool News scored the first moving images of the new Rambo movie, and man, it shows that Stallone is taking no shorts in trying to convince us that Rambo is still a ruthless killing machine. I don't think I have ever seen images as bloody as this in a trailer before, though I think it's safe to say that this is not going to be the official trailer you will see in front of your piece of family entertainment next time you go to the cinema. This is truly 80's action blood and gore, so you better not click this link if you just had your lunch.

First footage of The Golden Compass online

Movie studio New Line is in Cannes at the moment, heavily promoting their upcoming book adaptation The Golden Compass, and they are showing off the first footage of the movie, which has now been posted online by website HisDarkMaterials.org. It's very early footage, with a lot of the computer graphics still very much in their early stages, but there are some glimpses at scenes that look pretty amazing. Of course the look of the movie is not the only thing that matters, because it's mostly about how they handled the story, but fans of the books will no doubt love these two minutes of Lyra and friends (and enemies!).

The Bourne Ultimatum teaser trailer online

When you have a series of movies like the Bourne's movies, a teaser trailer really doesn't need that much for people to sit up and go: "I want to see that!" So, even though there isn't much to see in this teaser, and most of it's even from the earlier movies, you probably still cannot keep yourself from getting excited and hoping for the release date.

The closer they get to the sun, however, the more the crew starts to unravel. This first teaser trailer does a great job of getting you pumped for the movie. It has some great, sweeping music and images of the crew in many different forms of peril. This movie wasn't on my list of movies you have to see this year, but I now realise my mistake. Here's a teaser for Rush Hour 3 (but don't rush too hard to see it)

The two Rush Hour movies were pretty fun. The combination of Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan works very well, especially when they are being given all the room they need, like was the case in Rush Hour 1 and 2. If you liked those movies, then you probably don't need to be persuaded to watch the third one, which is going to come out later this year. In that case you don't need to watch this teaser trailer, which honestly feels a little bit tired and unoriginal, I'm sorry to say.

Fred Claus trailer online

How's that for an early teaser trailer: the movie isn't supposed to come out until Christmas 2007, but here is the teaser to Fred Claus, the Vince Vaughn/Paul Giamatti starrer about Santa Claus' brother Fred, a good for nothing who every now and again shows up on Santa's doorstep. The teaser is actually quite funny, although I wonder if people are really interested in seeing a Christmas related trailer so early after Christmas is over. Still, if you can bear the christmas music, it's worth a click.
