Leonardo DiCaprio is busy shooting his new movie, Blood Diamond, a new adventure thriller directed by Ed Zwick. In the movie, he plays a South African mercenary on a quest to find a rare pink diamond. The movie also stars Djimon Hounsou and Jennifer Connelly, and is heading for a release in 2007. Real Movie News has a nice gallery of shots from the set (if you don't mind the huge logo running through each and every picture). Admitted, most of these shots just feature Leonardo doing a lot of walking, but it gives you a good look at what he will look like in the movie, although I am sure this is not the outfit he will be wearing when he is doing his adventuring.
This is one of the movies that looks good and yet we'll all be waiting for the reviews to come out to solidify its Oscar chances. Regardless, it'll be interesting to watch what it presents about conflict diamonds--especially so close to Christmas.
