It must be the week of the Dark Knight pictures, since after yesterday's Bruce Wayne appartment and today's new Batsuit, here is the first image of the car of The Joker. At least, that is what sources told the guys at Latino Review. So don't be surprised if this pic turns out to be a fake, though Latino Review is pretty sure this is the genuine article.

Shooting on The Dark Knight is well underway in Chicago, and as was expected the first images from the movie have started to come in. The pics I will link you through now is interesting, as it shows the lobby of an appartment building, transformed into Bruce Wayne's luxury bachelor pad. No, there is no Bats or Joker in the pics, but they are still well worth your clicking time.
There are a lot of people out there who envy Christian Bale for playing Batman all summer and getting paid for it, but the actor himself is not so sure how great that really is. "I'm not really looking forward to wearing a black rubber suit in the summertime in humid Chicago," he told the WENN news agency. "If you see a pool of sweat through the city, follow it and you will find me." But since director Christopher Nolan prefers to shoot his movie at night, maybe things won't be so bad at all for Bale. "We tend to shoot at night like some kind of covert operation. So, we have minimal people actually seeing me in that way."

Four of the biggest scenes in The Dark Knight will be filmed in the bigger Imax format, which makes it the first feature film that has ever done that. "There's simply nothing like seeing a movie that way," director Christopher Nolan told USA Today. "It's more immersive for the audience. I wish I could shoot the entire thing this way." Well, that's not going to happen, since the IMAX-process is long and expensive, which is why no other movie has ever tried anything like this before. One of the scenes shot in IMAX is the introduction of the Joker, which was a well thought out choice for Nolan. "Batman has some of the most extraordinary characters in pop culture. We wanted the Joker to have the grandest entrance possible."
It's been confirmed that Anthony Michael Hall will join the cast of the new Batman movie. Sadly, he is not allowed to say anything about who he is actually going to play. "I signed a confidentiality agreement, and I can't say which part I'm playing because it affects the story. I can't give away the suspense - it's a $200 million surprise, and I don't want to be the guy to ruin it." Let the speculating begin!
As if he doesn't have enough trouble with The Joker, and maybe also Scarecrow, here is another villain to add to the list of villains for The Dark Knight: Gamble. Even though I've read Batman comics for quite a few years, the name doesn't really ring a bell, and other trustworthy sources of Batman news have also never seen this character appear in anything Batman-related either. It's not even sure that this character was already allowed to have been revealed anyway, the only reason why we are hearing about him being the fact that rapper David Banner mentioned to MTV that he auditioned for the part.
Seems like we can finally have our first look at Heath Ledger in the guise of The Joker. It's not just going to be 'click on this link and look at the picture' though, since Warner Bros has thought up a nice way of making you have to do some work for it. Is it worth the trouble? Oh yes. Now you can see that Ledger will look nothing like those Joker-pictures we have seen on the net before, and he truly does look deranged, like a villain of his stature should. Hint: It isn't anything like the picture on the left...
Let's make it a trio of nuggets of Batman news then. According to the best source on the web for Batman news, Batman on Film, The Scarecrow will return in the second movie. You may recall that he didn't actually die or get caught at the end of the first movie, this might very well be true. But let's file this under 'rumors' for now, at least until official word is out.
Actress Maggie Gyllenhaal has so impressed her Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan that he has decided to make her part in the new Batman movie bigger. Which, if you consider the fact that Katie Holmes dropped out of the movie because her role wasn't big enough, probably won't go down very well with Mrs. Cruise. No word on what this increased screentime will mean, but we will no doubt find out when the movie hits next year.
