Take a look at Batman's Bat-Cycle

190602_2 There's so much Batman-news flying about that you'd think the movie is already coming out this summer. Of course, this is not the case, we will have to wait until next summer for The Dark Knight to hit theaters, and so all this information we are getting feels a little bit like Warner Bros teasing us. Then again, would I say no to these little nuggets of information, if I had the choice? Um, no of course not!
And so I present you with a link to two pictures of the new Bat-Cycle, or Batpod as it will be called. It looks pretty bad-ass, not the type of thing you expect to see driving around the streets of your neighbourhood, and it's not likely that we will ever see anything like this on the market. It has the same rugged look as the Batmobile, and I'm guessing that Batman will be doing a lot cruising around over rooftops with it. The production designers for Batman made six Batpods for the movie, just in case one of the stuntmen accidentally crashes one of these babies. Not that this is very likely to happen, since there is only one stuntman who is allowed to ride this thing, Frenchman Jean-Pierre Goy, who has been training for months to get to grips with the thing.
The batpod is so unbelievable that not even the designer of the thing can fully grasp the fact that they were allowed to build it. "I thought there was no chance we'd actually achieve it," Chris Corbould, the man who built the Batpod to a design by Nathan Crowley, told the LA Times. "[Director] Chris Nolan and Nathan went for the look of it rather than thinking about the mechanics. That was the biggest challenge: Get their vision, but make it work and perform."

More pics from the set of The Dark Knight

180612 Let me start by disappointing you: there are no pictures here of Heath Ledger as The Joker. There aren't even any pics of Christian Bale, or anything else remotely interesting happening. Nope, by clicking the link you will be taken to a page where you can see Maggie Gyllenhaal having her hair done, and Aaron Eckhart getting into a cab. Still, if you want to have your first look at Gyllenhaal's new Rachel, or Eckhart's Harvey Dent, then you'll only have to click the link.

Take a look at the new Batsuit

150618_3 For his second movie, Bruce Wayne will upgrade his batsuit, turning it into an outfit that is a bit sleeker and more powerful. Hopefully for Bale it's also a bit lighter than the earlier suit, since the actor was already complaining that he worries about wearing the suit in the expected Chicago heat. For a first look at the suit, click the link, which will take you to JoBlo, where they have a scan of a magazine with the first ever pic of the new suit.

Is this The Joker's car?

150615 It must be the week of the Dark Knight pictures, since after yesterday's Bruce Wayne appartment and today's new Batsuit, here is the first image of the car of The Joker. At least, that is what sources told the guys at Latino Review. So don't be surprised if this pic turns out to be a fake, though Latino Review is pretty sure this is the genuine article.

Check some pics from the set of The Dark Knight

140613 Shooting on The Dark Knight is well underway in Chicago, and as was expected the first images from the movie have started to come in. The pics I will link you through now is interesting, as it shows the lobby of an appartment building, transformed into Bruce Wayne's luxury bachelor pad. No, there is no Bats or Joker in the pics, but they are still well worth your clicking time.

Christian Bale not looking forward to wearing his bat-suit this summer

110609 There are a lot of people out there who envy Christian Bale for playing Batman all summer and getting paid for it, but the actor himself is not so sure how great that really is. "I'm not really looking forward to wearing a black rubber suit in the summertime in humid Chicago," he told the WENN news agency. "If you see a pool of sweat through the city, follow it and you will find me." But since director Christopher Nolan prefers to shoot his movie at night, maybe things won't be so bad at all for Bale. "We tend to shoot at night like some kind of covert operation. So, we have minimal people actually seeing me in that way."

The Dark Knight partly filmed in IMAX-format

Four of the biggest scenes in The Dark Knight will be filmed in the bigger Imax format, which makes it the first feature film that has ever done that. "There's simply nothing like seeing a movie that way," director Christopher Nolan told USA Today. "It's more immersive for the audience. I wish I could shoot the entire thing this way." Well, that's not going to happen, since the IMAX-process is long and expensive, which is why no other movie has ever tried anything like this before. One of the scenes shot in IMAX is the introduction of the Joker, which was a well thought out choice for Nolan. "Batman has some of the most extraordinary characters in pop culture. We wanted the Joker to have the grandest entrance possible."

The top 10 Summer Movies for 2008

As it looks, the summer of 2007 might be the most profitable summer season ever. Already we have two movies breaking records, with another following today, and there are plenty more movies that could be making $ 200 million or more before August ends. But what about next summer? Will it be another threequel feast? Or are we actually going to be treated to a summer that has some more originality? (What do you expect?)
